Twestival Goes Local

February 8th, 2011 Comment

It's that time of year again! On Thursday, March 24th, volunteers from across the globe will raise funds in concert for local charities who are making a positive impact on their communities for Twestival Local 2011.  And from Austin to Wilmington, cities all over the U.S.  are already 'a-tweet' with excitement!  But there's still a ways to go if we want to surpass lat year's 200 plus registered events.

The good news? With thousands of U.S. cities unclaimed, there are still thousands of opportunities to be a part of the largest global, social media based fundraising initiative to date.

So go on and get started!

Step 1. Visit the www.twestival.com home page to check to see if your city has been claimed by visiting the 'Official Events' page.

Step 2: If your town is still available, enter your City/State in the 'Find a Twestival' search bar and click 'Register.'

Step 3: Complete all of the requested fields and a confirmation email will be sent to you.

Step 4: Once you've been accepted, you'll receive instructions and planning resources to help you get started along with Twestival team contact info.

The actual planning, scope and theme of your Twestival Local event will be up to you with Twestival team leads available for guidance/support.  From pubs to bowling alleys, a Twestival can happen (and has happened) just about anywhere imaginable! The ultimate goal is to raise awareness and resources for a deserving charity using the power of social media, community and the common good.

Got questions?  Email us@twestival.com for more info and follow @twestivalus for updates.

Please keep in mind: All submissions for cities and charities must be in no later than March 10, 2011.
